-
- 2A
- The trade name of FILA for one of their sneaker shock absorbing designs.
-
- 3/4 High
- An athletic shoe whose upper height is lower than a high-top and higher than a mid-top. The Nike Air 40-40 GD shown below is a "3/4 high" shoe. (To me, this shoe is as high as a high-top in front, but lower in the back.)
-
- 40-40

A series of Nike baseball and cross-training shoes. They all share the distinctive pictured upper design. The number is from "40 home runs, 40 stolen bases."
-
- 45
- An alternate jersey number used by Michael Jordan for a short period of time after returning from his first retirement. There were a few pairs of Air Jordan shoes made with this number.
-
- 5/8 High
- An athletic shoe whose upper height is lower than a high-top and higher than a mid-top. I (Charlie) am not sure of any specific standard that distinguishes this from any other shoe height (such as 3/4 high), other than it sounds good in the mind of the marketers.
-
- 6453

The numbers that map to "NIKE" on a push-button telephone. Sometimes used to group certain Nike styles, including the (pictured) Air Famished Mid.
-
- 81 Shoes
- A brand name used by A. D. One, probably because people mess up the name.
-
- 84
- The jersey number of football player Randy Moss... it's on the Jumpman Super Freak athletic shoe.
-
- $$$
- Something the prospective athletic shoe purchaser should have in great quantities.
