When I was a kid in the 1960's, there were two basic decisions to make about sneakers:
The Montgomery Ward shopper of 1922 had the exact same two decisions. These all-purpose sneakers were recommended for "house wear, tennis, gymnasium, and outings." There were sizes available for nearly every customer.
Pricing was as follows (plus 8 cents postage per pair):
| TYPE | High-top | Low-top |
| MEN'S | 98 cents | 89 cents |
| WOMEN'S | 93 cents white/95 cents black | 79 cents |
| BOYS AND GIRLS | 85 cents small/89 cents large | 73 cents small/79 cents large |
| LITTLE KIDS | [No high-tops for little kids in 1922] | 65 cents |
