Sneakers during the Viking invasions of Europe


During the 8th, 9th, and 10th Centuries AD, Scandinavian warriors (known today as Vikings) sailed up and down the coast of Europe pillaging, plundering, and carrying away the women and children in their adidas sneakers.

Well, you may ask, were the women and children really wearing adidas sneakers? Look carefully at enlargement of the shoe logo in the upper left-hand corner:

Looks an awful lot like a Stan Smith tennis sneaker to me!

Now that I read more details about the picture, it's a 1997 re-enactment of the Viking invasions. Oh, darn!
